In a postgame interview following a Houston Rockets loss Thursday night, LeBron James made his first public comments regarding the possibility and rumors of former NBA point guard Darren Collison coming out of retirement to join the Los Angeles Lakers.
When asked if the addition of Collison would help, James responded:
“I don’t know. I don’t like talking fantasy basketball. i’ve never been one to talk fantasy basketball. we’ll see what happens, but i don’t really have too much to comment on that.”
Collison was seen at the Laker game last night seated alongside team owner Jeanie Buss. Seeing as the Lakers did not capitalize on getting Marcus Morris before the trade deadline, and that he went to the cross-hall Los Angeles Clippers, this exponentially elevates the level of urgency for James and the Lakers if they want a chance at securing the Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of the season.
