LA Clippers fans can now breathe a collective sigh of relief.
The fabulous Forum now belongs to the “other” team in Los Angeles, and the Clippers may have a new place to call home.
Breaking: Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has reached an agreement with MSG to purchase the Forum, through a new company, for $400M in cash. Story to come @latimes.

Ballmer has been in negotiations with James Dolan, New York Knicks owner and his firm the Madison Square Garden company, who has owned the Forum since 2012. There were reported feuds between Ballmer and Dolan, as Dolan’s company filed two lawsuits to block Ballmer’s initial plans of building a new arena, roughly one mile away from the forum. Per Dolan, it would have been a logistical nightmare, considering that the LA Rams stadium is next door to the Forum, and that would be three stadiums all within ear-shot of each other.
The truth is, Dolan knew that a new, sexier, venue would zap away some of the musical acts and talent that have historically used the Forum.
But it seems only fitting that Ballmer’s solution was to just buy the arena.
While it is unsure if the Clippers will play in the old Forum, there certainly will be plans for the arena to be built as part of a larger complex dubbed the Inglewood Basketball and Entertainment Complex.
