Kevin Durant Will Not Play in Orlando: “My Season Is Over”

In an interview with the Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears, Kevin Durant opened up on a wide array of topics ranging from contracting COVID-19 to the civil unrest that exists in America today. However, when asked if he will play with the Brooklyn Nets once the season resumes next month in Orlando, the 6-foot-10 answered flatly and resoundingly, saying:

“My season is over. I don’t plan on playing at all. We decided last summer when it first happened that I was just going to wait until the following season. I had no plans of playing at all this season.”

Despite Durant stating that he feels healthy and normal, it seems that he doesn’t feel ready to play in the type of intensity that the shortened and expedited remainder of the NBA season will require.
